History

The Coolangatta Football Club is an immensely proud club, who have been a powerhouse in Gold Coast Football since 1962.

Sound administration and excellent management skills, have enabled our great club to not only survive but prosper both on and off the field, as we enter a new era of professionalism in an ever increasing competitive market.

We pride ourselves on hard work and dedication which supported by the tireless work of our strong Junior Club and the commendable strength and commitment of our volunteers and members, will enable future growth and prosperity for our great club going forward.

Coolangatta Tweed Football Club was one of the original Clubs in the Gold Coast Football League from the early 1960’s and continues as a proud football club to this day.

Coolangatta Tweed AFL Club Mens’ competition is currently a Division 2 QFA Affiliated Club with a lengthy history as a powerhouse Club on the Gold Coast, with Gold Coast Australian Football League premierships in 1978, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1988, 1989, 2000 & 2003.

Our Men’s Football Department has both Senior and Reserve Grade teams, along with our newly created Colt’s Football team established this season.

Our Women’s Football Department has teams in the QAFLW and the Development League at Senior level, the highest level in the state and our Senior QAFLW team won the premiership in 2016.

Our Junior Club fields a team in every male and female age group from Auskick to under 16’s. With 320 players, 80 of these being female, the future of the club looks bright with the next generation of players coming through to senior ranks. Our Junior club was awarded Club of the Year in 2014 & 2017 and Club Administrator of the Year in 2018.

After some hard times in years gone by our club is on the path back towards glory & has built a strong culture, based on our Club Motto, “One Vision, One Jumper, One Club”.
